What is Community Supported Agriculture?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is way for people in the community to purchase shares in a farm's seasonal harvest and provide you, our customer, with locally grown produce direct from the farm to your plate. A share is purchased in advance of the start of the season in order to defray the upfront cost of seed purchase and planting. In return, shareholders receive a good value for fresh, local vegetables and get to know the farmers who grow their food.

For the past 2 years we have run a CSA, but we regret to announce that we won't be offering one this year.

Every year more and more of our land is becoming saturated due to a drainage problem with the ditches that surround our land, which results in less and less land to grow on. That is why it is so difficult to announce our decision to devote this year to land maintenance, and suspend our CSA for 2012. As with most repairs, there is never a good time for them, however we feel it is crucial and necessary for the welfare of the land to perform the maintenance at this time.

We want to thank those of you who (through your membership) support local agriculture and urge you to continue to support the farmers in our community through your patronage.
